IOWA RESTRICTED LIST
This is an email I wrote to our fearless state commissioner in light of the new IOWA "restricted player list" that is coming out today or tomorrow. Mind you IOWA is in all caps because NO OTHER STATE IN AMERICA has one of these "lists"
I implore all of you to write in at ttopping@pcpartner.net or call at Phone 641-236-5766 or 641-236-3917 and tell him what a travesty this is. We as teams and players are being subjected to rules that no other state has to follow, and to all the C teams in Iowa he is allowing some teams to carry B rated players and not others. If you need examples email me at switz8888@yahoo.com and i will be glad to share and go into further detail. Do not be discriminated against and do not sell your state, your teams, and your players short by the ignorance of our State Comissioner!

"Please tell me what I'm hearing isn't true and you're not going to put out another "Restricted List" with every B player in Iowa on it and not allow C players to carry ANY of these players?
You are aware that ASA does not have a "season" so if you do that you're basically discriminating against people? You're allowing some B players in Iowa to play C and not others. That my friend is discrimination. You CANNOT say that so and so played for a "B" team because as I said ASA does NOT HAVE A SEASON. Every team in Iowa that plays is for lack of a better word a "pick-up" team until they play a SANCTIONED ASA CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT i.e. National Qualifier, District, State, or National tournament.
If you want to bump people to A, B, C, D, whatever based on what your little birdies tell you, do so until your hearts content, but do NOT try and bar our Iowa B players play within the rules and be one of the alotted 3 class higher players on a team. If that is what turns out to be the case I WILL go over your head at the ASA and press it as far as I can. Nothing may come of it, and they may dismiss me, they may not, but rest assured if you try to DISCRIMINATE against anyone playing softball in our state I will do so, take that to the bank."

Minnesota just won't let restricted players play in anything but an open tourney. If your team is b, you can pick up 3 a players. If your team is c you can pick up 3 b players. Get it? Nice and simple
